Baisakhi is a vibrant and colorful festival that marks the beginning of the Sikh New Year and the harvest season. At Udayan Kidz Pre-School and Daycare Centre Dwarka 13, we celebrated this joyous occasion with our little ones in a fun and educational way.
To start the day, our teachers explained the significance of Baisakhi and its importance in Sikh culture. We also talked about the harvest season and how farmers in Punjab and other parts of India celebrate this time of year.
Next, we had a craft activity where the children made their own paper Corn
After that, we had a special snack time where we served traditional Punjabi treat like jalebis. The children enjoyed trying new foods and learning about different cultures
Finally, we had a dance party where we played Bhangra music and taught the kids some simple dance moves. Bhangra is a high-energy folk dance that originated in Punjab and is often performed during Baisakhi festival celebrations. The children had a blast dancing and jumping around, and it was a great way to end the day.
Overall, our Baisakhi celebration at Udayan Kidz Prechool was a huge success. The children learned about a new culture and had a fun-filled day with their friends. We can’t wait to celebrate more festivals and traditions with our little ones in the future!
